But I have yet to hear of a nursery or shop where you can get stock bonsai. Most of the enthusiastics in Pakistan grow bonsai at home from normal house plants or small trees, even seedlings.
I have no info regarding availability of bonsai in abbottabad but you should check out good high standard high fi kind of nurseries. Maybe they have some stock bonsais imported.
As you can see I am not working on my blog anymore due to my busy schedule, but I do have plans to put books and small guides to start bonsai from nursery stock in Pakistan. but you can start out on bonsai if you interested, just read more on internet and view some pictures of mature bonsai samples. It will help you in getting the idea of how you should preceed.

regarding cactus, well I am not interested in turning them in bonsai but they might be an interesting prospect for bonsai art. Dear friend I am glad that you are also...Salam,
Dear friend I am glad that you are also interested in Bonsai. I am currently not working on my Blog posts as I am very busy. So i would like to answer your questions quickly. In Pakistan junipers are known by the same name i.e. Junipers :) and is very popular. If you go to any nursery you will find alot in stock there. For soil I have an article but its not finished and I have stopped working on it for quite sometime. I will post it soon before the spring season I guess, which will come around march april. Also I will be free by then. I would also like to advise you not to change the soil. Just try to shape the top. Its winter now you can wire and prune your tree. I hope i answered your question.W.A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07108066915091303418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4710370140557415451.post-78018034205500029852009-11-30T22:24:10.673+05:002009-11-30T22:24:10.673+05:00Very nice of you to start a blog on Bonsai.

The question you asked is very simple. You can use anything to seal the wound i.e anything that is inert ( is not harmful to the tree). It should be something that would not let the moisture escape from the tree and would also keep the bacteria out. I haven't been able to find any good bonsai wound paste in my area. But what you can do is you can use enamel paint to seal the wound. It would be better as you can get a wood color so its doesn't make the tree look ugly. After sometime it will wear off. But until than tree would have healed quite a bit but if it hasn't you should again apply the paint. Another solution would be to use plasticine mixed with a little vegetable oil to keep it soft.W.A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07108066915091303418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4710370140557415451.post-75649484794377143332009-01-30T09:54:00.000+05:002009-01-30T09:54:00.000+05:00This was also a good post waqar.
